Innovation
One of the most compelling benefits of outsourcing is the time it gives you to focus on your core business, whilst simultaneously ensuring your non-core activities are carried out by specialists. More than this, though, are the significant economies of scale a specialist can bring to your operations, through a centralised procurement model, business process re-engineering, service experts sharing best practice and process efficiencies.
Interserve has utilised a range of core systems and processes to ensure effective asset management. These include a 24/7 centralised helpdesk, integrated management system, real-time portals, effective use of six sigma for business process engineering, mobile audit processing technology and vehicle tracking for energy efficiencies. Such innovations include:
- ServiceTrac is a web-based system, utilising a network of PDAs (Personal Digital Assistance) and laptops linked to a live database. The system allows our operational teams to keep track of our daily performance and provide clients with reports and statistics on our service provision. Clients benefit from live reporting, integrated systems, ongoing compliance, audited service performance, scheduling and monitoring.
- Centralised Monitoring - Interserve has also worked closely with PRUPIM and Intelligent Property Group (IPG) to develop CentreMonitor.net®, a fully integrated asset and task management system. CentreMonitor maps and monitors all tasks, and also ensures that all centres are compliant with the BSI accreditation standards for environmental, quality, health and safety management systems. The system tracks 14 million tasks each week and won the e-business category at the 2006 PFM Partnership Awards, a prestigious award recognised throughout the facilities management sector.
