Prime contracting

Prime Contracting offers long-term value for money through improved Supply Chain Management, incentivised payment mechanisms, economies of scale, partnering and, ultimately, enhanced quality of life for our armed forces.

Interserve, as a Prime Contractor has overall single-point responsibility for the management and delivery of projects or provision of integrated estate services including new assets and maintenance of existing infrastructure. We also co-ordinate and integrate the activities of our Supply Chain to meet the MoD’s service needs efficiently, economically and innovatively.

Regional Prime Contracts (RPC)

RPCs are geographically based and take into account such factors as the deployment of services and estate maintenance. Each Regional Prime Contract may typically have replaced 10 to 20 separately-procured contracts and comprises two key components of work:

  • Core Services - maintenance of assets and facility management
  • Core / Capital Works - new build or refurbishment works involving capital expenditure or additions to assets

RPC South East

The contract provides capital works and facilities property management services at 95 establishments totalling 6,000 assets at establishments across the South East Region covering Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire, Sussex, Surrey and Greater London. The contract was awarded to PriDE in March 2005, a consortium of Interserve and Southern Electric Contracting. Find out more
