Interserve understands the automotive industry. We support companies at all levels in the supply chain from the component manufacturers to the distribution and logistics businesses and onto the shop floor. Interserve is embedded in the automotive industry and is proud to support the companies and communities associated with this sector.
Our association with delivering industrial and construction services to the motor manufacturers of the past in the Midlands through to delivering projects, such as the Honda UK plant in Swindon, is well documented. This major car assembly plant was built to a fast-track programme under a joint venture arrangement. An aluminium-clad, steel framed building incorporated pits and trenches for the process equipment. Major excavations and civils works were required for the storage and treatment of the waste fluids. Full plant facilities and HV/LV substations were provided to serve the plant’s sophisticated process equipment.
Subsequent projects included the Land Rover Press Shop in Solihull. This 24m high building comprised receiving area, press shop, die maintenance and dispatch, with the press itself located over a massive pit which required substantial excavations. Another project in the Midlands involved creating a 45,000m extension to a car assembly building, including demolition works and asbestos removal.
Our track record is not limited to large new build automotive projects but has also included refurbishment and maintenance works and essential soft and Facilities Management support services such as our catering and security operations at the Toyota plant in Deeside.
